BROCK

AGE: Approximately three years
MY STORY: Hi, my name is Brock. I was adopted last year and then returned to the rescue because I guess I can jump four foot fences?! My foster Mom has not seen any of that behavior yet . . . she does have a taller fence, though. So a little about me . . . I am a very high energy dog. I love to give kisses and sleep. And when I am not doing that good stuff I am playing with my Boxer brothers and sister here in my foster home. I have a high prey drive, so a home without small animals (cats, hamsters, etc.) would probably be best. I love to counter surf - my foster Mom says she is going to take me surfing for real . . . I don't know what that means. I do well in a crate when I am left alone. They have a lizard here that I LOVE to stare at and sometimes I get SO excited I jump on his cage and he does not dig that very much. I like to run so a fenced in yard is a must. If you are looking for a young, energetic, fun-loving pooch, I may just be the guy for you!

DAISY MAE ***ADOPTION PENDING!!***

AGE: Three years
View a montage about me!
MY STORY: Hey folks! My name is Daisy Mae. I'm a mushball for human love. I enjoy snuggling, and I give the best, soft, wet kisses with just a touch of whiskers around the edge - so I guess you would say I'm a pretty good smoocher! I love people of all ages and would do well in just about any type of home setting with one exception. I need a home with a male canine companion (I need another dog around in order to feel comfortable). I'm a smart pooch and I love to learn new tricks for treats. I'm always up for a romp, tug of war, or just tearin' up the house with my furry foster brothers. I get along super great with them. I'm the kind of girl that wants to live life to the fullest. My foster mom says I have this natural ability to make everybody smile and instantly fall in love with me! I've been told I'm a sweet girl with ample wiggle in my waggle when I walk and I can do a perfect kidney-bean dance....no kidding! I have no problems when crated and I'm so well behaved! I guess you could say, I'm all that! So if you're looking for a sweet, fun lovin', and playful pooch with a smidgen of mischief, I'm definitely your girl.

DAKOTA ***ADOPTION PENDING!!***

AGE: Three years
MY STORY: Hi, I'm Dakota! And I'm a girl, in case you wondered. I came into rescue after being passed around on Craigslist. My foster mom says I am a very sweet girl. I will confess to having a very high prey drive. If it moves (particularly if is small and furry), I'm off like a shot. I would fare best in a home with a fenced yard (physical fence). I take a few minutes to warm up to new people, but once I do, I'll be your best friend. My foster home contains a male Boxer and I would love to have a male canine companion in my new home when I get adopted.

DUKE ***ADOPTION PENDING!!***

AGE: Four years
MY STORY: Hi, my name is Duke! I came into rescue because my owner passed away. I'm a happy-go-lucky, easygoing guy who likes playing and snuggling. I'm just happy to do whatever you're doing. I would fare best with a fenced yard (physical fence). I also need a home where someone is around a lot, because I do have separation anxiety, at least to some degree (Boxers just like to be with their people, you know how it is.) I just know I'll make a great companion for the right family/individual!
HOUSEBROKEN? Yes
TRAINING? I have some basic training under my belt. I'd enjoy taking some classes with my new family when I get adopted.
GOOD WITH CHILDREN? My history with infants/toddlers is unknown (my former owner was an older person), but I would be safe to place with older kids.
GOOD WITH DOGS? Yes
GOOD WITH CATS? No

DUKE

AGE: Seven years
MY STORY: Hi, I'm Duke! Unlike many Boxers, I LOVE to swim! I was a bit hefty when I came to the rescue, but I'm proud to say I've dropped almost 10 pounds and working on another, let's say 6 (my daily walks and weekend swim routine have been fun!). With my new bod I'm becoming much lighter on my feet and a little more sassy, but I'm a very sweet boy and have a great wiggle going on now with less weight to slow me down! Did I mention I like water? I'm great at fetch, plus I retrieve my toys from the bottom, too - my family got a baby pool just for me and I love it! I'm a little stubborn, but my foster mom and dad think I'm the happiest dog they've ever met! I'm not the least bit difficult, they just need to remind me they're you're in charge when I try to give them attitude. My foster brother keeps me in line pretty well and we have lots of friends, so I'm used to other dogs around and do great playing with everyone. I have to admit I insist on soft places to snooze and would do just about anything for a good snuggle! Kids love me - I'm very gentle and love their attention.
HOUSEBROKEN? Yes
TRAINING? I don't have a lot of formal training, but I'm very well behaved

KAISER

AGE: The paperwork says I'm four; my foster mom thinks I could be more like five
MY STORY: Hi, I'm Kaiser! My foster mom calls me Kaiser Permanente or sometimes sings a Red Hot Chili Peppers song about "how come everybody wanna keep it like the kaiser?" I actually think my foster mom may have a screw loose, but that's a story for another day. I was surrendered to rescue via a veterinary clinic. My former owner no longer had time for me and surrendered me to the vet, who took great care of me and then contacted rescue. In my former home, I was crated a LOT. It took me a few days to settle into my foster home, and now things are going great. There are other dogs here, and we get along fine. There is also a small human here, and we play soccer in the back yard all the time. I'm a very easygoing sort of fellow. I'm happy to play but also happy to watch "So You Think You Can Dance" with you.

SADIE

AGE: Five years
MY STORY: Hi, I'm Sadie! I was surrendered to a shelter because my owner was evicted. I'm a very sweet girl - or at least that's what everyone tells me. I'm pretty easygoing. I like walks and just hanging out. I also love to play with squeaky toys.
HOUSEBROKEN? Yes
TRAINING? While obedience classes are not required for me, I would certainly benefit from them.

SAKURA

AGE: Just turned five
MY STORY: Hi, I'm Sakura! I was surrendered to rescue because my owner had a new baby (I am good with kids, though!) I am plump but beautiful. My foster mom seems determined to help me get my girlish figure back. I'm on weight management food and am enjoying two walks a day. I am happiest when I'm near people. There is a male Boxer in my foster home and we get along great. I get very excited about visitors (wiggling and spinning as best I can) because I figure there are no strangers, just friends I haven't met yet!
HOUSEBROKEN? Yes

SAVANNAH

AGE: Approximately two years
MY STORY: I'm Savannah and I'm very happy to be in rescue. I was seized from a bad breeder, along with 5 other Boxers, and taken to a local humane society. They then called the Boxer Rescue folks for help. I'm a young, petite little girl and I have all the characteristics of a puppy mill dog. I'm very unsure of things, shy, and cautious. I LOVE the other dogs in my foster home and I've recently discovered toys. My foster mom continues to work on socializing me and teaching me that it's fun to be a nutty Boxer. My new home must have another dog in it and I'd prefer a home that has an above-ground fenced in yard. (If I get away from you, it will be very hard to catch me.) I also have a few health issues. I tested positive for heartworm and was treated for that. I should haven't any repercussions from it, but it's something my family needs to be aware of. On top of that, I have a significant heart murmur (grade 4) and will be undergoing further testing to see what is going on with my heart. Heart issues are common in Boxers and I certainly don't act sick, but I might require medical attention as I get older.
HOUSEBROKEN? I'm working on it. I have some accidents in the house, but I'm getting the hang of it.
TRAINING? Obedience classes are a requirement for adopting me. (The rescue requires obedience classes for all dogs three and under.)
GOOD WITH CHILDREN? I would do better in a home with older children.
GOOD WITH DOGS? Yes. My new home must have another dog in it.
GOOD WITH CATS? Yes. There is one silly cat in my foster home and I'm not interested in him at all.

TINA
AGE: Two years
MY STORY: Hi, I'm Tina! I was surrendered to a shelter late one night because I am deaf. The nice people from GABR took me in. Now I have two foster boxer brothers and a nice soft place to sleep. Being deaf, I have a few additional requirements in order to adopt me. My new home must have a hearing dog to act as my ears and a completely, above ground, fenced-in yard. My new family must agree to take me to obedience classes so we can learn hand signals together. I like to be close to my foster Boxer brothers; they are very tolerant of my bossy personality. My foster mom lovingly calls me the white tornado as I never sit still very long and love to play with tug toys. Prior dog/boxer experience is a plus. I am crate trained, but I need to be able to see my Boxer brothers, or I get anxious. My foster mom crates us all in the same room. I would love a Boxer brother to play with. I know the basic hand signals and I go to obedience class with my foster mom.
HOUSEBROKEN? Yes
TRAINING? Obedience classes are a requirement for adopting me. (The rescue requires obedience classes for all dogs three and under.)
GOOD WITH CHILDREN? Yes - but I am high energy, so older children would be best.
GOOD WITH DOGS? Yes
GOOD WITH CATS? Maybe. There are cats in my foster home and I chased them, but I don't hurt them. I like to bark at them.

WILLIE

AGE: Eight years
MY STORY: Hi, I'm Willie! And I'm a girl! I came into rescue after being unceremoniously dumped at a shelter right before my eighth birthday. I am doing well in my foster home, though. I had a mass removed but I am doing fine now. My foster dad says that I am like "a walking brick" and by that I guess he means that I am pretty solid. I love children (there are two in my foster home). I enjoy walks and just hanging out. I just know I'll make a great companion for the right person/family!

**What does "Adoption Pending" mean?
It means that an applicant is in the process of adopting the dog. Sometimes you may see this designation next to a dog's name for several weeks. Although the adoption process usually only takes a week or so, there are some cases where we have to wait for a dog to complete a medical treatment (or finish a heat cycle) before we can place the dog.
