My Story

Hi! My name is Dozer! I’m off to a new phase in life. A tragic turn sent me down a new path when my owner surrendered me.  I’m living it up in my foster home, waiting for a forever home to come along (although, I’m hopeful it may be soon!).  My foster mom says I’m extra special.  There is just something about my sweetness that blows her away.  I’m an affectionate boy who came to GABR with what we call “unsocialized behavior”. I would benefit from continued socialization to be the best dog I can be, although my foster mom says I’m very well behaved and listen well.  I already know a bunch of commands that will impress you. I’m still learning about leash walking and need someone committed and willing to have extra patience when I’m learning new things.  I’m getting one-on-one training at my foster home, so when I get adopted, my new home will score by getting a pup with great house skills.  Lucky you, whoever you are?  My foster mom says I want to sit in her lap as badly as I want her to throw a ball for me.  What to do first?   Do it all, I say! I love love love balls. I’d do back flips for a tennis ball. I love the heck out of people. I would do best with kids over 6 years old.  I tend to play inappropriately with dogs, but I’m catching on to what is acceptable behavior. Never living with other dogs most likely contributed to this.  I’m making leaps and bounds, though! I would do best as an only dog.  I like to bark in my crate so no apartment life for me.  I need a home with a fenced in yard (at least 6 feet tall).  My foster mom says I passionately enjoy the simple things in life.  I accept change and move on.  I love no matter what. My perfection radiates out from my beautiful soul.  I know right, I’m that amazing!
