About
Green Acres Boxer Rescue
Green Acres Boxer Rescue, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, takes in Boxers from all areas of Wisconsin. GABR was founded in 1999 and we have helped well over 1000 dogs to date. Approximately half of our incoming dogs are surrendered directly by their owners for reasons including: new baby in the house, moving, no time for the dog, allergies, etc. The other half come to us from shelters. Some shelter dogs are unclaimed strays and some are surrendered to shelters by their owners. We work closely with shelters and other rescue groups across the state.
Upon arrival each dog is taken to a veterinarian. They are brought current on vaccinations, heartworm tested, fecal tested, microchipped and spayed/neutered. Even if a dog is not due for any vaccinations, we still make sure that a thorough physical exam is done. We take the time to evaluate each Boxer's temperament so he/she can be placed in the best home possible.

Many people ask us where we are located. The dogs are cared for in foster homes around the state. Therefore, we do not have one central location. We do our best to provide service to the entire state (as well as the Upper Peninsula of Michigan). Our volunteers work very hard to help Boxers in need!

If you are interested in adopting, the first step is to submit an application. You must live in WI (or in the U.P. of MI) in order to adopt. If you live in another state and need help finding a rescue in your area, we'd be glad to help you with that.
